What is Testosterone?
Testosterone is the primary male sex hormone. It’s made mostly in the testes (with smaller amounts produced by the adrenal glands) and helps regulate many key functions throughout a man’s body—not just sex drive. Testosterone can influence how you feel day-to-day, how your body builds and maintains muscle, and how well you recover, sleep, and perform.
What testosterone does in the male body
Testosterone plays an important role in:
Sexual health: libido (sex drive) and erectile function.
Energy and mood: motivation, confidence, mood stability, and improvement of overall sense of well-being
Muscle and strength: can improve building and maintaining lean muscle and physical performance
Body composition: helping regulate body fat distribution (especially around the midsection)
Bone health: can support bone density and long-term skeletal strength
Cognition: can help improve focus, memory, and mental clarity
Recovery and resilience: can help improve exercise recovery, stamina, and overall vitality
What is andropause?
Andropause refers to age-related hormone changes in men—most commonly a gradual decline in testosterone (and sometimes changes in other hormones). It’s not a sudden “switch,” but a slow shift that can affect energy, mood, body composition, and sexual health. What else can mimic andropause symptoms?
Many conditions can look like low T, which is why we avoid “one-lab” diagnosis. Common contributors include:Sleep apnea or chronic poor sleep
High stress and burnout
Insulin resistance / prediabetes / diabetes
Thyroid dysfunction
Depression/anxiety
Nutrient deficiencies (e.g., vitamin D, iron issues, zinc)
Medication effects (opioids, long-term steroids, some antidepressants, etc.)
If my testosterone is “normal,” can I still have symptoms?
Yes. Reference ranges are broad, and “normal” doesn’t always mean “optimal for you.” Symptoms can be driven by low free testosterone, high SHBG, estrogen imbalance, sleep apnea, metabolic issues, or other health factors that impact hormone function. -

At your first visit, you’ll meet with the physician who will manage your care. We’ll review your health history, current symptoms, review any concerns, and complete a lab draw for a comprehensive lab test. You’ll then return for a follow-up visit to review your results, confirm whether you’re a candidate for treatment, and decide if you’d like to enroll in our membership program.

Your physician will order a comprehensive set of labs to evaluate your overall health and help determine the safest, most effective plan for you. This typically includes a complete blood count (CBC), a comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP), tests of iron stores and thyroid function, blood sugar, prostate health, and a hormone panel (including total testosterone, estrogen, sex hormone-binding globulin, prolactin, and luteinizing hormone).
All labs are 100% included in your initial consultation fee. If you’d like additional labs, your physician can add them when appropriate for an additional fee.
